Richemont's brands, some of them hundreds of years old, are deeply ingrained in consumers' minds. We believe the firm's focus on the long term is particularly attractive to investors. Our view that Richemont is a collection of competitively advantaged businesses is supported by high-double-digit operating margins and returns on capital that usually run around 20%. Returns could climb higher, and Richemont's growing cash and investment pile is already quite large. Cash returned to shareholders will eventually have to increase.
