Glencore is a massive commodities trader hitched to a collection of fairly attractive producing assets situated in decidedly less-than-attractive jurisdictions. Excluding earnings attributable to its 34% stake in Xstrata XTA, Glencore's profit mix has been roughly half marketing and half industrial over the past few years. Including the Xstrata stake, the mix is closer to one third marketing and two thirds industrial.
