LONDON (Dow Jones)--GlaxoSmithKline PLC (GSK.LN) Tuesday said it purchased 700,000 ordinary shares on March 6.

MAIN FACTS:

-Lowest price paid per share was 1400.5 pence per share.

-Company intends to hold these shares in Treasury.
