The company announces that copper production was 0.18m tonnes in Q1 2013 representing a 12.8% increase on production in Q1 2012 mainly due to higher plant throughput at Esperanza. Molybdenum production at Los Pelambres was 2,600 tonnes in Q1 2013, compared to 2,700 tonnes in Q4 2012. Gold production was 0.90m ounces in Q1 2013. The transport division transported 1.80m tonnes, slightly lower than in Q4 2012. The water business's Q1 volumes were 13.0m cubic metres, compared with 12.8m cubic metres in the previous quarter

The company announces that Minera Antucoya has decided to resume development of the Antucoya copper project. The decision to resume development of the project has been made by Antucoya's shareholder council, which functions as the board of Antucoya and comprises representatives from both Antofagasta and Marubeni Corporation. This decision follows completion of the full review of the project announced on 21 December 2012. Operations are expected to commence during 2015, with average annual copper cathode production of approximately 0.09m tonnes in the first 10 years of the mine life

The company's copper production in 2012 was 0.71m tonnes, a 10.8% increase to 2011, mainly due to higher production at Esperanza. Copper production was 0.19m tonnes in Q4, a 7.80% increase. Gold production was 0.30m ounces in 2012 reflecting the higher throughput at Esperanza. Molybdenum production at Los Pelambres was 0.01m tonnes in 2012 reflecting the particularly high molybdenum grades in the current year. Group production in 2013 is expected to be approximately 0.70m tonnes of copper, 0.26m ounces of gold and 8,000 tonnes of molybdenum
